2009 UPA High School Eastern Championships

The 2009 High School Eastern Ultimate Championships are a brought to you by the Ultimate Players Association. This is the top tournament of the year for high school Ultimate teams in the Eastern United States and Canada. 16 Open teams and 14 Girls teams will come together on May 9th and 10th, 2009, in Lebanon, OH, to showcase high school Ultimate at its best.

The UPA would like to congratulate all the qualifying teams and welcome players, volunteers, and fans to Ohio. Find out all there is to know about the tournament, and if you can’t make it down for the event, keep up with the action through this site.

News and Announcements

Pennsbury and Paideia Win Easterns!

The Pennsbury boys and Paideia girls each earned their second UPA High School Eastern Championship, with wins over Amherst Regional HS. The girls' title marked the 2nd straight for the Paideia team, while the Pennsbury boys won their 2nd in the last 3 years. For score details and write-ups from the weekend, check out the Results page. Thanks to CUPA for hosting a fantastic event that was enjoyed by all of the participants.

Breakmark the official merchandise company for HS Easterns has a limited amount of tournament gear for sale on their website if you missed out on bringing home a piece of the tournament.

Seedings and Schedule Announced

The seedings and game schedules have been posted for the 2009 UPA High School Eastern Championships. Now it just comes down to playing the games. The Paideia School comes in as the top seed in the Girls Division looking to defend their 2008 title. In the Open Division Amherst comes in as the number one seed looking to take back a title they haven't held since 2006 but you can be assured that schools like Pennsbury,Paideia and defending champions Columbia won't make it easy. Breakmark Ultimate Apparel Awarded Official Merchandiser Contract

Breakmark Ultimate Apparel has been awarded the official merchandiser contract for the 2009 UPA High School Eastern Championships. The UPA and Breakmark are excited to be teaming up for the first time to support Youth Ultimate and look forward to making HS Easterns a memorable event for participants and fans.

Bids Announced

Bids for the 2009 UPA High School Eastern Ultimate Championships have been announced. Teams applied from twelve states, making team selection for the Open Division very difficult. A record number of Girls teams applied, making this the largest Girls Division in the tournament's history. In both divisions, the strength of teams and the geographic range look to make this a very exciting event. Best of luck to all the teams, and thanks to all the players and coaches who continue to grow and support high school Ultimate.
